When coming to your lash appointment please remember to:

    Clean lash extensions.

    Remove make-up & Skincare products.

This is very important for lash application.

    Remove contact lenses.

    Do not use sunbeds.

    Avoid caffeine.

    Wear comfortable clothes.

    pj's are welcome.

You can bring earphones is you like.

If you suffer with hay fever it may be best to take antihistamine before the appointment.

  • Aftercare

Avoid touching / rubbing your eyes or picking the lash extensions.

Do not use sauna/steam room/ sunbed/ facials for 24hrs after your appointment.

Brush lashes daily to keep them neat & tidy.

    Clean lashes daily!

If you suffer with oily skin / use skincare

products or in hot weather & using sun cream,

I recommend cleaning the lashes twice a day.

If you happen to cry, be sure to clean your lashes after. Tears are salty and this causes the extensions to stick together and will break down the glue bond.

Only use eyelash shampoo recommended for lash extensions.

Do NOT put mascara or eyeliner on your lash extensions!

Be careful when cooking/opening the oven or dishwasher as the heat can melt the glue bonds causing the lashes to stick together.

Try to avoid sleeping on your face, this will put pressure on the lashes.

You can go swimming with lash extensions however do not leave chlorine or salt water on the lashes, make sure they are thoroughly washed after.

  • FAQ

How long will my lashes last?

Lash extensions last 2-3 weeks before needing infills.

How often should I clean my lashes?

    Daily!

Can I put mascara on my lash extensions?

    No!

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

    No!

If the lashes are applied correctly with the correct weight & length for your lashes as well as good application your natural lashes will not get damaged.

If you decide to pull/pick off the extension or not look after them, this will damage your lashes.

  • Patch testing

Before your lash appointment you will be invited for a free consultation and patch test.

Please come to the appointment with clean lashes if possible.

I will place a small amount of lash glue behind your ear, this is to ensure that there is no reaction to the glue I use.

We will discuss the lash look your after, as well as length length & style.

I will ask to take a picture of your eyes, this is to allow me to lash map your eye shape before the appointment so that I can use the correct lash curl that will suit your eye shape & natural lashes

  • Lash mapping

Not everyone's lashes / eye shape is the same, it's not one size fits all. The difference between lash curl can impact massively on how your lashes look at the end result.

Please do not expect your lashes to look the same as someone else's, everyone's lashes are different.

Those who have lots of natural lashes will achieve a fuller look then someone with more sparse lashes.

Each set is altered to every individual client to ensure the correct lashes are suitable for the natural lashes, however most looks can be achieved.

  • How to clean lash extensions

    Wet the brush.

Pump lash shampoo onto brush or directly to eyelid.

In sweeping & circular motion clean the lashes and eyelid.

Once cleaned rinse shampoo off with water using the brush or pipette.

(Make it easy, wash them in the shower)

Pat lashes dry with tissue or microfibre cotton pad.

Brush lashes back into place to keep them neat & tidy.

You can also dry lashes with a hair dryer on a cold setting or using a lash fan.

  • Why do lashes need cleaning ?

Lash glue loves to be kept clean to maintain a strong bond.

Clean lashes is what makes them last!

Throughout the day without realising the lashes will collect makeup/skincare products as well as dust/dirt and natural oils that are on the skin.

If dirt/product is left on the lashes it causes the bond between the lash and the adhesive to break down. This will result in premature shedding which means you will lose lashes a lot quicker.

If the lashes are dirty and not regularly cleaned this can lead to a bacterial infection.

Signs of this is build up at the base of the lashes, swelling, redness & flaky skin on the eyelid, this can also be itchy & irritated.

This can happen because the tiny oil glands at the base of the lashes are being clogged from collecting dirt, make up & face products.

  • Lash shedding

The hair growth cycle is a natural and continuous process.

We naturally shed between 1-5 lashes per day.

During the spring / autumn when the seasons change our bodies naturally shed more which included your lashes.

    This is completely normal.

You may notice that during this time your lashes are not as full after an infill, this is because when a lash sheds a new baby lash appears and a lash extension cannot be applied to a baby lash.

You may need to book infills sooner than usual during this time.

  • Menopause / Hormones / Medication

Any of these can make the natural lashes more oily/dry or brittle. This means your lashes may respond differently to lash extensions and might not last as long.

If you take vitamins that encourage hair growth this may speed up your lash shedding cycle which means you will lose lashes much faster.

You may need to come back sooner for infills instead of the standard 2/3 weeks. It may also be best to avoid laving lashes during this time.

  • Lash naps

    Lash naps hit different!

Please never apologise for falling asleep during a lash appointment !

    This is completely normal

You don't have to worry if you snore, I'm used to it!

When you lay for so long with your eyes closed its hard not to drift off

I actually find it very reassuring that you are that relaxed and comfortable around me to fall asleep

This actually makes my job even easier !

When your asleep your eyes are relaxed meaning I can focus on creating beautiful lash sets

    Lash naps are the best!

  • Earphones in your lash appointment

Please feel free to bring earphones to your appointment

If you struggle to relax, keep your eyes closed while not doing anything or lay down for long periods of time, please feel free to bring headphones to your appointment

You can take this time to catch up on a podcast, listen to your favourite music or play a guided meditation

You are more then welcome to put your earphones in while I pamper you, I wont be offended, you do you!

  • What affects lash retention ?

Having make-up / skincare products on when coming

for an infill, this will act as a barrier and the extensions will not bond correctly to the lashes.

    Talking during the lash appointment.

When we talk our eyes/face moves which causes the lashes to move. If the lashes are moving when the extensions are being applied they will not bond correctly, this will cause the lashes to fall out quicker.

    Oily products.

If face products are being used regularly the lashes

must be cleaned twice a day with a lash cleanser.

    Not cleaning lashes daily!

Lashes must be kept clean in order to maintain a strong bond, if not cleaned daily product, natural oils and dust/dirt will collect on the lashes and break down the glue.

    Not using a lash cleanser.

Do not use any other product to clean lashes other

    than a eyelash cleanser!

Products that are not designed to clean lashes will break down the glue as the product is too strong.

  • Why are my lashes not as full?

Lash shedding is a natural and continuous cycle.

We naturally shed between 1-5 lashes per day.

Depending where you are in your lash cycle you may come to an infill appointment with lots of baby lashes.

These lashes cannot have an extension applied to them as they cannot hold the weight and this can cause pre mature shedding & lash damage.

The baby lashes will be fully grown by your next infill appointment.

Also if too many lashes are lost and you have less then the required amount of lashes remaining we will not be able to get 100% coverage.

  • Why are my lashes not lasting?

    Oily skin / products

If you suffer with oily skin or use skincare products, the oils will sit on the lash line and break down the glue.

Make sure lashes are being cleaned twice a day to avoid

    this from happening.

    Lash shedding

During lash shedding season we loose more lashes.

Daily we loose between 1-5 lashes.

This is completely normal, our lashes shed

and new baby lashes will start to grow.

    Not looking after lashes correctly

You may feel like you don't want to touch

the lashes as they are fragile and you don't want them to fall out but lash extensions can haldle a lot!

You MUST keep your lashes clean otherwise dirt/oils will break down the adhesive, causing the lashes to fall out quicker.

    Menopause / hormones / medication

Any of these can make the natural lashes more oily/dry or brittle. This means your lashes may respond differently to lash extensions and might not last as long.

If you take vitamins that encourage hair growth this may speed up your lash shedding cycle which means you will lose lashes much faster.
