Être Belle
Make sure you shower before your waxing appointment.
Hair must be at least 1cm long.
(size of a grain of rice)
Its is best to exfoliate 1-2 days before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.
Avoid touching the area for 24hrs.
Avoid sunbathing/saunas/steam rooms/sunbeds and makeup for the first 24 hrs.
Do not shave between your waxing appointments, this will effect the growth cycle and can cause waxing to be more painful.
Do not apply perfumed products/makeup/deodorant or fake tan to the area for 24hrs.
Avoid wearing tight clothes.
Depending on your hair growth cycle you should re-book your waxing every 3-5 weeks.
Your hair needs to be at least 1cm long (size of a grain or rice) in order for the wax to remove unwanted hair.
Hairs being pulled out from the root is not pain free, especially if its your first time waxing, it also depends on where you are being waxed.
The thicker/courser the hair the more likely it will hurt more then someone who has less/finer hairs.
Not to forget everyone's pain threshold is different.
I do aim to make every wax as comfortable as possible but the results are definitely worth it!
The simple answer is no.
If you wax on a regular basis you will notice that your hair starts to grow back a lot finer and slower.
This is because each time we wax we are removing the hair from the root.
It varies from person to person, some people may find their hair does not grow back much thinner but there is more sparse areas and that it takes much longer to grow back.
Depending on your hair growth cycle it is best to re-book a wax between 3-6 weeks.
This is usually the right amount of time as the hair needs to be a good length to be removed.
When its that time of the month your skin will be more sensitive 5 days before and after, I would recommend not to book a waxing treatment around this time however you still can.
Before we start to wax you will be asked to put on disposable underwear which will be worn through out the whole treatment.
Please bare in mind that with intimate waxing you will be asked to assist & move into some awkward positions, the experience may involve a lot of — for lack of a better term — spreading.
The important thing to remember is that you are receiving a professional service and there is nothing to be embarrassed or uncomfortable about.
I have seen it all before, so don't worry too much about exposing yourself.
No!
Resist the urge ...I strongly advise not to shave inbetween waxing treatments.
Shaving promotes ingrown hairs and skin abrasions hence it counteracts all of the wonders that the wax does for your skin.
Plus, shaving makes your skin more sensitive, which will only make your next wax more painful.
Although shaving is quicker, convinient and less painful, you will find with shaving you have to do this every couple days if not every day to be hair free.
Shaving causes stubble, razor rash and can be uncomfortable as shaving only cuts the hairs close to skin level. You can get cuts and nicks from using a razor causing more discomfort.
With waxing it lasts so much longer as the root of the hair folicle is being pulled from the skin, meaning it wil take a couple weeks for the hair to make an apperance and you will have a smoother/softer feeling for much longer before the hairs start to grow back. The hairs will also be much thinner and sparse.
You will not need to wax daily like shaving, you can come back for a wax between 3-8 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle.
If you wax regularly you will notice that your hair will become sparser, making it easier to wax…and less painful!
